Brief Description


This course will present a thorough introduction to basic information systems theory, provide a working knowledge of systems analysis and design techniques, and introduce several fundamental accounting information flow patterns, In addition, it will examine the need for adequate systems controls, risks inherent in the controls, and refined systems output to support management decision-making processes. As well as this course also shows how to use the modern technologies in constructing and developing accounting information system in the context of multiple databases.


Course Objectives


After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Explain the importance of particular design features of an accounting information system.
  2. Explain the flow of accounting data and information in business organisations.
  3. Explain how information systems are developed, implemented and maintained.
  4. Explain how information technology is used in information processing.
  5. Demonstrate awareness of security, control, ethical and legal issues in accounting information systems.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of approaches to do research proposal in accounting.
  7. Demonstrate effective communication in speech.
  8. Demonstrate improvement in written communication skills.
