Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Overview

The Program of Master of Business Administration offered by College of Business and Economics is one of the pioneer programs at the Qassim University. The program started in fall 2004. The main feature of this program is combining the theoretical aspects of Management science, and practical aspects of the management practices in the industries. The program encourages students to keep pace with the rapid progress of science and technology and to pay attention to issues and the developments in the managerial fields, enhancing creativity and innovation, improving scientific research to serve the community and the requirements of sustainable local development. This program aims to enrich the knowledge through specialized studies and research in the latest developments in the field of business administration, and to enable the graduates to pursue their higher studies for a master's degree in business administration in order to develop their competencies in effectively managing institutions in public and private sectors.


Curriculum

This MBA program offers 45-credits that combines a wide range of courses from several business disciplines. The curriculum is designed to offer a cohesive, well-rounded curriculum, which can benefit a range of professionals, whether they're in strategic, operational, generalist or specialist positions. Admission Requirements

  • The applicant must have a bachelor of business administration or an equivalent degree studied on a full-time basis from an approved university or college. Undergraduates with non-business degrees may also be accepted in the program. Applicants should have a minimum overall grade of Very Good (cumulative GPA of 3.75 out of 5) in their bachelor degree program. However, in some cases, applicants with Good (cumulative GPA of 2.75 to less than 3.75) may be accepted if they have exceptional level of work experience of no less than 3 years.
  • A score of at least 83 in STEP or 12 in QUEPT, an English language test provided by the Deanship of Community Service at Qassim University, or an equivalent score in standard international English language tests.
  • Applicants must set for the entrance examination conducted by CBE.
  • Applicants should have a satisfactory score in the aptitude test conducted by the National Center for Assessment in Higher Education.

    Academic Standing

    In order to remain in good standing, graduate students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 out of 5.00. A student whose cumulative GPA falls below this level will be placed on probation and must raise his/her cumulative GPA to at least 3.75 by the end of the subsequent semester to be returned to good standing.
    If he/she does not raise the cumulative GPA to at least 3.75 by the end of the next semester, the student will be disqualified from the from the program. Students must complete the degree requirements within 4 years from the time of initial enrollment in the program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75.


    Prerequisite courses

    Students must successfully pass the following prerequisite courses, if prescribed by the University. The passing percentage for each pre-requisite course is 70% and the overall GPA must be above 3.75. Course topics include:
